Join In April 4-9, 2022 for a Celebration of Diverse Books!
We Are ALL Readers is a week-long festival of diverse children’s books, created by local public and school libraries, children’s book authors and illustrators, and local community organizations. Our events include:
- StoryWalks® at libraries and schools in East Greenwich, North Kingstown, Kingston, West Warwick, and Exeter featuring outdoor installations of picture book pages along a walking path.
- Free virtual author visits for schools in those districts.
- Bookmaking, poetry writing, and comics workshops for kids.
- A free, public, in-person book celebration on April 9, from 1-5pm, featuring:
- Storytimes and talks by a diverse lineup of award-winning children’s book authors and illustrators who will interact with children and sign books.
- Hands-on art, writing, and book activities for kids.
- Pop up bookstore by Wakefield Books. (Buy a book and get it signed!)
- Info tables hosted by local community health and education groups
- A new, free book of your choice for the first 350 kids!
